STORM LAKE COUPLE TO CHAIR 14th ANNUAL BISHOP’S DINNER
The 2010 Bishop’s Dinner for Catholic Education will be led this year by Dr. Troy and Grace Ivey of Storm Lake.
Dr. Troy Ivey has been a general surgeon in Storm Lake for the past 16 years and Grace Ivey is the part-time assistant to the Buena Vista University athletic director. They have four children, Catie, Michael, Bobby and Emily. The family is very active at St. Mary’s Catholic School and parish serving on various committees and boards.
The Iveys believe Catholic schools are a vital part of a child’s education and have been a wonderful choice for their children.
“We feel it develops a real, strong respect in our children as well as the core values that they need as they go on in life,” says Dr. Ivey.
Each year Bishop Nickless selects a couple to chair his dinner based on involvement within one or more of the eight Catholic high schools and 17 grade schools throughout the Diocese of Sioux City.
“Selecting Troy and Grace as this year’s chair couple was an easy decision. They are absolutely dedicated to Catholic schools and Catholic education. We are blessed to have them represent the dinner and I am grateful for their commitment to making the event a success,” says Bishop Nickless.
The Bishop’s Dinner is an annual fundraiser that supports more than 6,000 students who attend Catholic schools throughout the Diocese of Sioux City. The dinner will be held at the Sioux City Convention Center on October 10th with Father Joe Krupp delivering the key-note address.
Tickets are $125 per person with $80 of each ticket going to Catholic schools within the Diocese of Sioux City. Last year, over $100,000 was distributed to Catholic schools because of the success of the Bishop’s Dinner. Tickets are now on sale. Contact the Diocese of Sioux City at 712-255-7933 for more information.
